Well does that mean security passed with CSIS and security passed with CIC is different. As i didnt check with CSIS but CIC helpline agent told me last week that security is complete and passed along with everything other such as eligibility, criminality , medical passed and valid all fees are paid.

I dont wanna scare myself but wanted to understand as helpline say everything is complete and its now there with officer for final review. Do they say same thing to u as well ?
Nothing to be scared of. If call center agent has told you so, then rest assured your file is ready for the final review.

With CSIS, you have to understand that they never tell you about the outcome of the security screening. They just tell you the dates and the status of the screening (ongoing/complete). Also, it's not clear that the completion of CSIS review concludes the background checks (who knows if there are other components to it, like e.g., involvement of foreign government organizations and/or other entities etc.).

Anyways, my point here is that knowing CSIS is done with your case doesn't help much unless you're told by the IRCC that your background checks are complete.

Also, as per the general understanding here in this forum, my security checks seem to be complete. See the page from my GCMS notes below:

But, who knows what did CSIS actually advise IRCC on my immigration screening/admissibility? Maybe, CSIS did not send them the required clearance level hence all this delay. Or, maybe, it's just my visa office... causing all this delay.

While in your case, as the IRCC agent has clearly told you that everything about your case is done and remaining is only the officer review, I think you have no reasons to worry about your application. Your good news is just a matter of time, but almost certain. :)

I am not sure if your GCMS notes shows that the security seems completed. When the GCMS shows the type of the security as "Security Screening", it means that the security is still in process and it has not been completed yet. This what i have understood from the discussions in the forums.
Anyone helps to figure out? How did you came to the point from the GCMS that your security is completed?

after 7 months and counting, i got a response from CSIS, that they are yet to receive a request on my file as at nov 23rd... is not this worrying, although they also stated " to expeditiously process it once its received" and i should direct all my queries to IRCC. am expecting new notes by Monday... this is just tiring. what do u guys think?

Some people here think that if s.15(1) is mentioned and there is '1' next to security, it means it's done. But I don't agree to this theory. To my understanding, presence of s.15(1) or any other clause simply means some part of the requested information is hidden/prevented from disclosure. 1 and/or any other number next to security means the presence of an entry (like if there are multiple entries, i.e., for a spouse and/or a dependent, it could include numbers 2, 3 and so on...).

Anyways, I know my security part from the CSIS is done because I received a letter directly from the CSIS stating so. Here's what they wrote:

"... The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) received a screening request from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on (date), concerning Mr. (my name)'s permanent residence application. CSIS completed its review and sent its advice to the appropriate department on (date).

.... As CSIS has now concluded its involvement in this case, IRCC would be in a better position to respond to your queries regarding Mr. (my name)'s application."

1. Is it after received PPR, I can assume everything is fine and no further documents or interview is required?
2. What is the expected time to receive the CoPR after submission of passport copy (visa-free nationality)?

Thanks so much.

Yes, true for approximately 99.9% cases.

Depends on the visa office and the time of the year (current workload). Normally, it takes from 2-4 weeks.

No problem. You can send a fax or a mail with your full name, DOB & signature to the CSIS. Check further details here:

Sharma Sir ,

Are you waiting PPR for this 16 month due to security clearance not completed ?
