I think you have a high chance of refusal because of your employment history.jygot said:Hello.
I'm looking for some advice with regards to applying for a Student Visa in Alberta Canada. (Alberta Represent! Yey!) Previously my wife was the main applicant when we consulted with CIC agency. Unfortunately, we failed to pass some marks and we left it at that for a year or 2. Now, what we have in mind is that I would directly apply for a Student Visa and take a 2 year medical course in Bow Valley College. (Bow valley's nursing program is full pack. Back in the 2016 applications, there are people on waiting list for 2017) We're looking to do a direct application on the school since doing it with an agency is costly. I have already messaged the school and they said that it would be best that we just do the online application. The only thing left for us to do for now is to apply online and pass the requirements needed. I'm now waiting for my Academic IELTS result which comes this December 2nd.
A bit of background about myself since I'm the one applying for the Student Visa.
- My name's John - Greetings, John
- 27 years old
- High School Graduate
- Wasn't able to graduate BS-Nursing in CDU but was able to take it up to 4th year. (This is quite complicated since I had finished most of my subjects but the only thing left missing for me to graduate was to finish all my cases/duties) :-[ - You will be accepted since minimum is grade 12 diploma or 2nd yr college in the Philippines
- Don't really have any experience or work with regards to the medical field - High chance of refusal, you need work employment AND someone to accept you once you are done with your diploma
- I mainly worked as a musician and in a call center ever since
- Right now we currently have an internet cafe (Piso net) that we're running
I currently have my wife's parents and a close friend of mine who would help me with the show money needed for this. I was told that it would be best if it was a close family member who would help me with the show money. Is this true? (Doesn't matter to them where the money is coming from, they just need proof that they can support you.) Since I've already asked my side of the family for help and unfortunately they didn't have the money for it or were not willing to help me. Also, what would be needed for me to bring my wife and my kid who's still less than a year old? (I suggest to leave the baby since your wife cannot work if she has to take care of the kid. It's efficient if she can work full time while you study. Sacrifice, bro.)
Lastly, I have heard from friends over in Canada that it's better that I do not finish my nursing here in the Philippines since it's more complicated when you get there. Is this true? If I would prefer I'd like to finish it up in Canada since it would take longer for me to do an application.
Hopefully you guys understood my situation and can come up with any advice, answers and suggestions. Thanks.

No experience on that but I read somewhere down the 400+ page he/she reason that the family is for moral support and he/she got accepted.Macbarbie said:Hi guys, im a newbie here. Anyone of you here applied with spouse and kids? Want some good advice on how not to get visa rejection if you bring your family with you. Thanks.

(Yes.)If its not too much, can i ask what was the reason why you were denied and if you are intending to reapply? Im starting my application this year and I just want to make sure I do everything right. Ang hirap masawi.
In my SOP I stated that I will open my own restaurant after I finish my study, not believable, got rejected. Re-apply with my current boss' letter saying that once I'm done with my cooking course he will accept me not as an assistant but as a Chef. Approved
Also for those folks who is going bonkers in the process of applying but doesn't want to pay for a representative. I've found this agency, Fortrust. They have free consultation and free processing. They just ask for a 3k php commitment bond that you will go through the process with them and not back out. The 3k will be refunded regardless of what is the outcome. I think they get paid by schools for referring students. (Yup this is where they get paid big bucks) Because they have several accredited schools. And when I asked what if I wanted to apply for a school that they are not accredited with, they said thats the time they will ask for a payment. Just a heads up. You can look them up in facebook.
Read my posts and you will be guided accordingly on all the steps we took as I try my best to documents the things we do so people with he same case can have a guideMacbarbie said:Hi guys, im a newbie here.
