Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds permanent resident travel document

hi,

I just traveled to Canada with my permanent resident travel document by humanitarian and compassionate grounds (for being removed from canada as a minor). Should I apply for a permanent resident card or do i have to wait for two years before applying? I've read here that because I have H&C i don't need to wait but the people who wrote that didn't seem too sure.

which application am i supposed to be using? is it the IMM5444? its gonna show that i havent stayed in Canada for 2 years and there is no where for me to show that i have an H&C status, is that fine?

The PR Travel Document should have code RC-1 on it, which means it was issued on H&C reasons so overcomes any previous breach of residency obligation. I assume this would also be in your electronic file (though not sure how this is exactly recorded and stored).

Write a cover letter for your application. Say that you have been granted a travel document on H&C grounds, having been removed as a minor. Include a copy of your travel document.

If you're old enough, you can file for a PR card on your own as soon as you get there. The PRTD given to you based on H&C grounds should be enough proof that the government gave you the go signal to come back and retain your status.

If you're below the legal age of your province, you might need some help from some relatives. If you don't have relatives....I'm not sure. When my cousin got there our aunts and uncles helped her out cause she was still 17.

My father thinks submitting the application is still risky, as he doesn't want me ending up being reported for not meeting the RO and mess with my university studies.

Just to make this crystal clear, I have the category RC-1 PRTD on my passport. I'm sorry for repeating this but I want to be 110% sure: Should I submit the application to get a PR Card? Or should I wait? Is it true that I have a 180 days window to submit the application or have I misread it?
