Hi All,

I am trying to create my EE profile and have few queries regarding EE profile questions. Request senior members or others who gone through similar situation to advice on the same.
I know its a long list but appreciate your expert comments/suggestions.

Primary Applicant:

1. What to fill in "Job Title" for various positions held in my work history ? e.g. My NOC is 2173(Software Engineer) but my designation
was different in different companies (Software Engineer, Principal Engineer etc.). Nevertheless my primary role and responsibilities were that of NOC 2173.
Also, I had held three different designations (got promoted) in same organisation. What should I fill in under "Job Title" in this case ? My last held designation ?

2. One of my previous organisations has changed its name (new brand name). Should I mention the old name (which is on my offer/joining letter) or new name which I suppose will be having on my experience letter. (I haven't yet initiated the process of collecting experience letters).

3. What to fill under this:
Date XYZ first became qualified to practice in this occupation
If the "primary occupation" is:
a qualified trade (four-digit code begins with 632, 633, 72, 73, 82, 92), this is the date they became qualified to practice on their own in Canada. (For example, when they moved from apprentice to being a licensed tradesperson.)
any other job, this is the date they first obtained the minimum education or training stated in the NOC description. (Note: if the NOC only states high school, this is the date they graduated.)

Spouse Details:
1. My spouse doesn't have any last name. Only "Given Name" in passport. Can we fill in hyphen or dash for "Last Name" ?
The system doesn't allow without filling in last name.

2. Is it mandatory to fill spouse work history ? She has no Canadian work experience and I think points can be claimed only for Canadian work experience.

3. She has two university degrees: a bachelor and a masters. However, WES report has marked both as "Bachelor Degrees" of 3 years and 4 years
respectively. Do I need to fill "Number of years" for her Masters as 2 as per University degree or 4 as per WES accreditation ?
Also, for each degree should I fill "Bachelor Degree" or "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years" ?

4. Need to fill University name which awarded the degree (as on WES report) under "Name of Institute" or Name of the college attended (affiliated with the University) ?

Thanks,
Raj

If anyone can help me out by guiding or giving me some pointers. I tried looking for CIC helpline/call center/email based system wherein they can reply to specific questions but seems CIC only replies on case number basis.

Also, I had held three different designations (got promoted) in same organisation. What should I fill in under "Job Title" in this case ? My last held designation ? - You can fill them separately, by mentioning the period, respective title and applicable NOC. You need not get three different letters for the same, one letter would do. Just ensure that the letter clearly mentions each position held by you, duties and responsibilities and other details for each position.

2. One of my previous organisations has changed its name (new brand name). Should I mention the old name (which is on my offer/joining letter) or new name which I suppose will be having on my experience letter. (I haven't yet initiated the process of collecting experience letters). - Mention the name as per the reference letter. Also attach a Letter of Explanation for the same, so that the case officer knows the reason for the difference in names.

(Note: if the NOC only states high school, this is the date they graduated.) - You can mention the date you graduated.

Spouse Details:
1. My spouse doesn't have any last name. Only "Given Name" in passport. Can we fill in hyphen or dash for "Last Name" ?
The system doesn't allow without filling in last name. - Try and see if it allows hyphen.

2. Is it mandatory to fill spouse work history ? She has no Canadian work experience and I think points can be claimed only for Canadian work experience. - Yes, you are correct, you get points for spouse, only if she has Canadian work experience. If the system does not allow you to proceed further without entering her work history, then you can fill it. After getting ITA, you can mention her foreign work experience under Personal History.

- For each entry, if you have two Bachelor degrees, or one Bachelor and a two-year college diploma, choose “Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.”

4. Need to fill University name which awarded the degree (as on WES report) under "Name of Institute" or Name of the college attended (affiliated with the University) ? - University name.

Thanks,
Raj

Thanks !! It was indeed useful. For point 3 in Spouse details, WES's Canadian Equivalency Summary says "Bachelor's degree(three years) and bachelor's degree(four years)". I have filled details for both the degrees evaluated from WES in two rows, one each for her BA and MA and selected "Bachelor's degree" under Canadian equivalency for each of them. This seemed most logical to my while filling the profile.
Now my question is, will the Express Entry algorithm/system automatically computes this to "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years" for points calculation ?

For each entry (BA and MA), if you have two Bachelor degrees as per ECA Report, choose “Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.”

Hi...

I have done B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in chemistry

My question is that as per my NOC (2112), the minimum education required to qualify for the profession (2112) is bachelors.

However, my first appointment was as a senior research fellow (ext.), for which minimum requirement is Ph.D. thesis submitted.

Now, what should I write under the tab, the date XXXXXX first became qualified to practice in this occupation.

Bachelors or my Ph.D. submission date????

Please help

Thanks

Hi there people, I have recently created a new EE profile on 15 August since my old profile has expired...My old EE profile has a UCI number.
However, my newer one does not ask or show one. Is that normal ?

For each entry (BA and MA), if you have two Bachelor degrees as per ECA Report, choose “Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.”
That option is no longer available in EE profile.

I did the same for my wife's education..and got 9 points instead of 8..I hope I have done the right thing by entering bachelors as equivalency for her bachelor and master degree earned in India.

Please let me know ur thoughts
