Hello, in the post ITA stage, it seems there are "Employment record" and "Letter of Employment" uploading area? When clicking the question mark, there are some explanation about the "Employment record" , and it said "Reference Letter (Your evidence should include a reference letter from your employer and previous pay stubs, where available."

But what is "letter of Employment"? isn't it the same as reference letter. which is required in the "Employment record"?

It is really confusing. Does anyone know about this.

Thank you.

What kind of employment did you claim points for and was it only foreign experience or Canadian experience as well?

Hello, sir. Thank you for your reply. I have foreign and canadian work experience. So what is the difference in terms of documents for "Employment record" and "Letter of Employment"?

Thank you.

The requirement states the following. Check this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
  • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
  • if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).

If the work experience is in Canada, proof may include copies of T4 tax information slips and notices of assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (the time period for these documents should reflect the work experience timeframe [e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 requires only documents from those calendar years]).

Record of employment is when you leave the job your employer will give you in Canada. A Record of Employment (ROE) provides information on employment history. It is the single most important document used by employees in establishing a claim for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.

Employment letter/ Reference letter/ Letter of Employment same thing.

I have the same concern. I have 3 different fields in my checklist. Please review if you don't mind:

1 - Offer of Employment (1 Field)
I understand this is the field for uploading the 'for at least 1-year' job offer (also my current job)

2 - Employment Records (Multiple Fields)
I understand these are the fields for uploading work experience letters from current & past employers as the fields are labeled per experience.

3 - Letter of Employment (1 Field)
Not sure what this is as it contains the same information as the above letters.
QUESTION: Is it normal to upload the same documents again in this field?
