When I went to Canada last time I was given a visitor record for not telling them a return date. I had to leave in two weeks. I am wanting to go back now after a month and am wondering how king I should tell them I am going to stay so I don't get a visitor record this time.

You should establish the amount of time you intend to stay. Anything else would be lying.

While entering Canada last time I said I did not know how long I was staying. It was correct. I was visiting my gf and wasn't sure how long I would be there.

During my subsequent attempt I want to have something to tell them even though I am basically unsure.

Do I say I'm visiting a friend for a few days?

Do I say I'm visiting my gf for a month?

Do I say I'm traveling by myself?

Reading my other thread yields some clues as to what not to say.

A month is probably too long given you've had challenges at the border in the past. I would go with 1-2 weeks. Make sure you bring evidence with you that demonstrates your ties to the US.

I agree with Scylla.

It seems you come here to LIVE with your gf instead of VISITING your gf. Seems that CBSA thought as much, so now it is up to you to prove that is not the case.

A normal visitor would have a few weeks of vacations due to his commitments in his residence country, so his VISIT would be short and with fixed dates.

I will tell them that.

I have no objects that demonstrate my ties to the US. I mean I get mail and stuff at a house there but I didn't bring it with me.

Hi, were you able to re enter? Did you have any problems or get another visitor record? My bf is planning to reenter as a student when he leaves for a month as a visitor after being given a visitor record

Visitor record is no longe valid once he leaves Canada. He will be re-examined like a new visitor. Why does he have a visitor record as a student. He should have a study permit if he is studying in Canada.
