Hello everyone!

I have a query about work experience for EE FSW.

My sister just submitted her profile with CRS of 470+ and will probably receive an ITA on the next round.

Our question is about her work experience. My mother owns a medium-sized business (25-30 employees), she is currently in her "retirement stage" and my sister is basically the "head honcho", or acting as the owner of the business.
The business is registered with my mother as the owner.

Our question is if this would be considered as self-employment or not?
Because if not, my sister would be writing up her own reference letter and my mother would sign and stamp it with the business stamp. Is this allowed?

Is there going to be any issue when she submits her application? She has every file of the business (business registry certificate, payroll, tax forms, social security forms) and they all have a certified translation and have been notarized as well.

Also, will this be considered as work experience per CIC interpretation?

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Since your question asks about FSW, can we assume your sister (and the business) are located outside of Canada? If so, it doesn't matter if the experience is gained through self-employment, it is accepted with proper documentation.

Then only time self-employment experience is not accepted is in Canada under the CEC program.

Thank you for the reply!

Yes, the business is outside of Canada.

We'll state it as self-employment and provide all supporting documentation.

Thank you for your help!
