Software Test Engineers

Hi All,

I'm starting this thread for all the applicants who have any queries regarding the "Software Test Engineers" job role under EE.
My apologies in advanced if such thread exists out here or the questions were repeated ones.
It would be great if other members can direct us to the relevant posts/threads for different queries under this thread.

To start with i would like to get the advice from the seniors members out here.

1) For "Software Test Engineer" job role, which would be the appropriate NOC ?
--2173 Software engineers and designers
Titles under this are :
test engineer, software
testing engineer, software
software testing engineer

OR

--2283 Information systems testing technicians
Titles (some) under this are :
software test co-ordinator
software tester
technician, application testing
technician, software testing
test coordination analyst

In my career i have worked under testing roles as Software Test Engineer -> Senior SQA Engineer -> Test Lead -> Principal SQA Engineer

a) I'm not sure which NOC would be more appropriate ?
b) 2173 is skill type A and 2283 is skill type B. I guess it will lower in my points if i choose 2283 in place of 2173.

Please advice.

Hi,

I don't think it lowers your point. My wife received an ITA recently for job code 2283.

Thnx for the response believeinbest.
Can you plz share the details of the process if your wife has gone through the PNP ?
Any pointers to get nominated for the PNP for any of the province ?
Being new, i dont have much idea about to crack the PNP to raise my score.

She didn't get selected through PNP. We had on overall score of 465 in express entry which led to ITA.
