Hi.
I went to UK on a student visa in 2010 from pakistan.i claimed asylum there because my life was at risk in pak.my claim was rejected and i was deported to pak.

Now i want to start a new chapter in my life and complete my studies. And get admission in master course in canada.

1.I want to know whether my deportation will affect o
n study permit for Canada?

2.i m not a criminal and never committed a crime. Uk police did not arrest me, I volunteerly claimed asylum.

3.do uk and canada share immigration information?
And should I hide my details of uk.i m not hiding anythung which i am afraid of.the only thing is that I claimed asylum there so Canadian officials will assume that I will do the same in canada.

What if I make a new passport and don't mention the UK at all.will they still find it?
Please please help me and give me genuine answers

It will definitely negatively affect your chances of obtaining any visa to Canada. If you try to hide anything, you risk being banned from Canada for five years for misrepresentation. Assume that Canada can find out your UK history.

Yes - Canada and the UK share information. Your chances of obtaining a study permit for Canada are pretty much zero due to the failed asylum application (same goes for a visitor visa or work permit). If you wish to come to Canada, you should look into applying to immigrate instead. Your failed asylum bid won't be held against you in an immigration application provided you are 100% honest and include the details of your failed asylum bid in your application.

Yes - if you make a new passport and don't declare your failed asylum bid - Canada will most likely find out. You will then be refused and also receive a five year ban from Canada due to misrepresentation. After that happens it will be even more difficult for you to travel anywhere requiring a visa.

Dear Scylla,
i would kindly like to require information from you.
my wife and kid were denied asylum in Europe so they left volutarily back to africa now am granted protected person here in Canada and applying for Pr where i have to include them too. do you think they will be denied to come to canada due to the failed sweden asylum case?

No - they won't be denied based on the failed asylum case. However make sure you mention the failed asylum case in their application. Not mentioning it could certainly lead to a refusal and a ban from Canada.

Thanks Scylla.

What sort of immigration?.you mean express entry program or investor visa.i don't have a lot of money.
What if i tell the whole story and explain the reasons honestly, would they still refuse my visa?
I dint commit a crime,i just claimed asylum and the immigration officer did not believe my story,i even have the letter of refusal from them.

How it works,if you r being honest and tell the real story they refuse you,if you dont tell the real story they will also refuse.
I can even produce police clearance certtificate that didnt do anything wrong there, not even a traffic offence or illegal work

Yes - by immigration I mean Express Entry, one of the Provincial Nominee programs, the Investor program or another immigration program. Your failed asylum claim will not stop you from successfully applying to immigrate.

Again, there is zero chance you will be approved for a study permit (or work permit or visitor visa) because of your asylum claim + deportation. To be approved for one of these, you have to demonstrate strong ties to your home country and prove you have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Your failed asylum bid shows you have low ties to your home country and are trying to find somewhere else to live. This is why a study permit will be refused in your case.

If you want to come to Canada - forget the study permit. Focus on qualifying to immigrate. That's really your only chance of coming here.

Hi scylla,
The same case is with my brother. He was on student visa bit working overtime. He got caught. But he was not deported. He left UK voluntarily.
As he told me that deportation amd volutarily leaving is a different thing. Now if he wants to apply for canada Pr with spouse. His wife will be the primary applicant. So will he face any problem. Or His wifes file can aso get rejected due to this case. Moreover he didnt commited any crime. So will this count as a benifit?

No problems provided he's 100% honest about his immigration history in his PR application. It will only be a problem if he misrepresents any of his past history.

Hello
Plz i need help . I git ita on nov 2 and im planning to apply in the next few days anf I just received my pcc ( a search of the fingerprints provided by this individual has revealed priot arrest data at the fbo. This does not precludr further criminal history at the stage or local level).and in another section (arrested or received on... by agency cbp miami intl ap miami"charge 1-alien inadmissibility under section 212) i was in fact deported from usa bc i worked illegaly . Is that a problem??

Also i overstayed my visa in colombia and they offer me two option pay fine or be banned for one year and i opted for the second option
Is that a reason to be refused visa?

If you hide the deportation, your visa application will be refused and you will be banned from Canada for 5 years.
