Can anyone help me analyse the score calculated from Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) - tool?
My question is why Foreign work experience subtotal is 50 rather than 75? However, Education subtotal score is 13+25=38. That's very strange. Is it a system problem?

Skill transferability factors
Education

A) Official Language proficiency and education = 13
B) Canadian work experience and education = 25
Subtotal = 38

Foreign work experience

A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 25
B) Canadian and foreign work experience B) = 50
Subtotal = 50

Certificate of qualification = 0

Subtotal Skill transferability factors = 88

No, the system is computing correctly.

Open the ministerial instructions (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/express-entry.asp) and scroll down to subsection 24(2) which clearly states that "Sections 23 (Combination of foreign work experience and official language proficiency) and Section 24(1) (Combination of Canadian work experience and foreign work experience) may be combined for a MAXIMUM total of 50 points".

So even if you're getting more than 50 points here, it awards you only 50 points for this and overall only 88 points on 100 for Skills Transferability factors.

Hope that helps. All the best!

There is a maximum amount of points you can receive under each category, and there is also an overall maximum.
Skill Transferability factors (Maximum 100 points)
1. Education = 50
2. Foreign work experience = 50
3. Certificate of qualification = 50
It's at the top of the CRS breakdown/explanation page(Section C):
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

I too have a confusion on this. Can someone clarify please?

Below is from CRS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Skill Transferability factors (Maximum 100 points)

Education Points per factor
(Maximum 50 points)

With good/strong official languages proficiency and a post-secondary degree 50
With Canadian work experience and a post-secondary degree 50

Foreign work experience Points per factor
(Maximum 50 points)

With good/strong official languages proficiency
(Canadian Language Benchmark [CLB] level 7 or higher)
and foreign work experience 50
With Canadian work experience and foreign work experience 50

Certificate of qualification (for people in trade occupations) Points per factor
(Maximum 50 points)

With good/strong official languages proficiency and a certificate of qualification 50
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My details below

My CLB level is 7. I have 1+ years of Canadian work experience and currently working in Canada. I have more than 10 years of foreign work exp.

With the above said my calculation and what i got in my profile are below

CRS - Skill Transferability - Education 26
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience 50

I am not clear on how I got 26 points for "CRS - Skill Transferability - Education".

My understanding is
If I have "language proficiency and post-secondary degree" I should get 50 points
OR
If I have "Canadian work experience and post-secondary degree" I should get 50 points

but I have got only 26 in this group. To me I feel like I satisfy both the above criteria and I should get 50 from one of them.

For "CRS-Skill Transferability - Foreign work experience" I got 50 points which is similar to the above ("lang prof + foreign exp" or "Canadian exp + foreign exp")

Can someone please clarify? I got 381 but I expected to have 405 (24 less). I have planned to increase my IELTS score to get more points. Thanks

--You were awarded 13 points for satisfying "Post-secondary program credential of one year or longer (CLB levels 3,4 & 5) AND Points for CLB 7 or more on all first official language abilities, with one or more under CLB 9
AND
-- You were awarded 13 points for satisfying "Post-secondary program credential of one year or longer (CLB levels 3,4 & 5) AND Points for education + 1 year of Canadian work experience"
You were not awarded the maximum score in either category because:
-- you did not achieve CLB 9 or more on all four first official language abilities
AND
-- you do not yet have 2 years Canadian work experience.

CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience 50

I am not clear on how I got 26 points for "CRS - Skill Transferability - Education".

Thanks DoubleS for your response.

I think I will get more points when I complete 2 years in Canada.

Yes, you will get 25 points for the "Education With Canadian work experience and a post-secondary degree" section, therefore, your total for the "Skill Transferability-- Education" section would be 39 rather than 26.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue.
Hi,

I have just created my EE profile after waiting for the 1 year in Canadian Experience.
I have good result in my English exams.
Celpip 12 12 11 10.

I have a degree from my home country and a two year diploma here in Canada. However for the skills transferability I am getting only 38 for education. I am getting 50 for Canadian Experience. I am wondering if I should be getting my full 50 for Skill Transferability of 50 points?

As per my research the max point for skills transferability is 100.
I am getting only 88.
38 for Education
50 for Canadian experience

Any idea why the education isn't a full 50 marks? Am I missing anything?

Thank you so much in advance.
