Question regarding PR Renewal

Do we have to declare day trips in PR card renewal.

In the form i see only mention about
Have you traveled or lived outside of Canada in the last 5 years? Include all absences due to employment, trips to US, vacations etc.

I did.

"I included day trips in my application, since it is stated on IMM 5444E the following: "21. TRAVEL HISTORY: Have you travelled or lived outside of Canada in the last five (5) years (or if you became a permanent resident less than five (5) years ago, since becoming a permanent resident)? Include all absences (including those due to employment, vacations, trips to the United States and any other time you left Canada)"

And in the instruction guide: "Question 21
Your Travel History: You must list all your absences from Canada in the last five (5) years, or since becoming a permanent resident if less than five (5) years ago. Fill in the dates of the period that should be assessed.

If you're unsure, I'd do as Leon said: write them a cover letter and explain it.

Since it was just a matter of hours, when entering manually the dates under "Number of days" I put 0."

my concern is, even i don't know how many day trips i have done to US. We live very close to Border, and we frequently go to US for shopping, gas .

Longer trips i know and also provided during my citizenship application.

also i wonder if you are in canada for any part of day, it is counted towards ur PR days, then why they need to know about day trips.

Also if i have authorized them to get CBSA report, then why i need to include same too.

Also if they don't want to have day trips for citizenship application, why they want to include in PR application.

Also in Online Residence Calculator or 'How to Calculate Residence', its not mentioned anywhere that we have to omit day trips. It says same thing
"Include all your trips outside of Canada in last 4 years for the purpose of business,pleasure or vacation, visit to family, trips to US etc."

But still online calculator omits ur day trips.

I just don't want to go through all the hassle of putting multiple pages of details bout day trips if its not required, even it would be difficult for them to go through those, so that y i m questioning the whole process.

I recommend you posting on the section of the forum which is related to residency obligations, you're more likely to get more answers there. Have you checked the thread I gave you the link for? There are other opinions in there as well.

I filled based on what is asked in the form, as well as in the instruction guide. They don't use the word "day trip" but they do use, as I have written, "Include all absences" and "and any other time you left Canada."

Did yours omit day trips? Mine didn't, and I used (and printed) the residence calculator just yesterday.

I just don't want to go through all the hassle of putting multiple pages of details bout day trips if its not required, even it would be difficult for them to go through those, so that y i m questioning the whole process.

If you'd like, you can write a letter explaining that you've crossed the border countless times for the reasons stated by you, explain your situation, and that you don't know how many times you've crossed.

my friend is applying for renewal of the pr card for his parents and he contacted cic call centre and they said "day trips" are not required to be mentioned on the pr renewal application.
