Today I received an e mail from my VO and they requested the statutory declaration of common law union form (IMM 5490)
I know it's not a required document but I have to provide it.

My question is:
Should we both be present in front of the commissioner of oath when we sign this form? I am asking this because my partner went back to Canada one month ago and I am in my home country. Is it necessary for one of us to travel in order to fill in this form?

Anyone please?
how can we sign this form under the commissioner of oath if we don't live in the same country?

Both of you are required to sign it,
You can sign it in front of notary should cost you $5. Or if there is any office who help immigrants, they can sign it for you with no charge. again both of you are require to be presented.
Good luck.
