::URGENT HELP::Study permit approved but haven't got Letter of Introduction

Hi there,

I've got an offer from UBC and I was applying through CIC online. My study permit has been approved already, which I can clearly see from my CIC application status. Two or three weeks ago, I got a message from CIC that my passport was requested at that time. I then sent my passport to the visa office in Los Angeles, where I'm now living, and several days later I got my passport returned with a Student Visa on it(I need one coz I use Chinese passport). Everything looked fine but now the problem arose.

My friends told me I need a "Letter of Introduction" or something like that and I have to show it to the border official when I arrive at Vancouver Airport, by which I can get my actual study permit, the paper version. But I still haven't got it even if my application in CIC is already approved and closed.

I called the visa office in Los Angeles, they said I didn't apply for study permit through them, so they were just responsible for my student visa rather than my study permit, which made some sense though, I did apply through CIC but not through the visa office in LA.

I'm so worried now coz I don't know who to contact. Anyone here can help or do you guys have similar experience?

please check your CIC online portal they sent you POE letter when you got visa approval email. LOI and POE is same.

Actually this is the issue, my application is closed now but I didn't get POE.
My last message in CIC is the request for passport, they didn't sent me the POE.
What can I do?

Would you mind to tell me how long did it take the consulate to ask you for your passport since you applied? in other words, "processing time"

After having long discussion with Etihad airlines (Thay are demanding POE-LOI-VISA Approval letter) at airport they allow me to board without this letter on one condition that if Canada will raise an issue for this letter on entry in Canada they will fine me 1 lakh panality. I am bit nervous Plz suggest and help me guys I will reach Canada Tomorrow. God Bless me.

I checked my online GC KEY account I have just 3 messages (File Submission, File Confirmation and Passport request). Nothing else. Plz Plz guys help if somebody face same problem and solved it without POE letter.

Hi, I am in the same condition currently, did you face any problem in Canada for it that you didn’t have LOI/POE ?
I mailed about it to Consulate General of Canada in Bengaluru for it, that I haven’t received it.
They replied the mail that the stamped visa in the passport is the only thing needed to travel to Canada. The officer in immigration in Canada will get all info from it.
So I am going ahead with it as well as keeping a hard copy of the mail

I just got my POE via CIC portal and waiting for my passport. But i am confused here. POE states that a border officer will issue me study permit after checking all necessary documents. Can you tell me what that means? Wont they give me visa sticker on my passport?

The sticker on your passport is a temporary resident visa while the study permit which allows you to study is issued at Point of entry in Canada..
