CELPIP April 2014 exam experience?

Any one has CELPIP April 2014 (new pattern) exam experience? If so could you please share?

Folks, I had my siting yesterday. Thought of share few points that may be useful to you guys.

- As you know they have introduced time limitation for each questions in all four sections, had to manage time efficiently especially in listening and reading sections.
- Speaking, writing and listening sections were quite straight forward and i was able to complete comfortably. I felt questions in reading section were little tricky and that too time limitation for each question made this section little more complex. Though i was managed to give my best shot, little worried about this section.

- One suggestions i would like to make here is, try to multiple attempts to the online practice exams until you feel comfortable with time management.

Reading was bit tricky and i got my scores, can anyone confirm if this score is good enough for applying PR.

Hi snags,

If you are applying in CEC under NOC A category then your score is not enough. You should get minimum 7 in all modules. So, you are missing 1 point in reading module.

Where did you take the exam? I mean which location it was?

I gave my exam on same date 12th April in Queens college, Toronto.

Have you received an email from CELPIP saying that we need to wait until 25th April to get scores in online.

I think I have to take it again, does revaluation work did anyone tried?

I am not sure for Reading module since it is assess by machine.

One our forum friend, Maxmoore, got in same situation but he had taken the exam for second time then he got nice score.

Hi there,
I did my exam on 5th April 2014, near yonge-eglinton at 1pm and got the result this evening.

Reading 12
Listening 12
Writing 9
Speaking 8

I will share my experience.

I reached the exam center at around noon, a lady asked us to put our stuff (jacket, wallet, cell phone and etc) in a bag that she gave us. She asked us to keep your passport and exam ticket in our hand, one person will be checking your passport, ticket and will scan them too. Once he is done, you will go to another person who will take your picture and will assign you to a computer. Another supervisor will escort you to your work station.

You will have your picture on the monitor, they will ask you to test the head phone and microphone. Please remember once you are in the
room you cannot leave on your "own" even for the washroom, exam supervisor will escort you.

There is a new rule from CELPIP that everyone will start the exam at the same time. So if you are in the room at 12.20 and last person comes in at 1pm, unfortunately you will have to wait until 1pm.

Exam is really straightforward (if you guys want I can share some of the topics too for speaking, reading, listening and writing).
For the writing part, one bonus thing is they have a built-in spell check, this option allows you to check your spelling.
Test is in following sequence:

1) Listening
2) Reading
3) Writing
4) Speaking

Results are usually up by 8th business day.

My score got released today (sitting was on Aprl 19), as i mentioned in my exam experience (starting thread) i was bit worried about the Reading section. But finally i was through in all four sections.

Listening - 10
Reading - 7
Writing - 8
Speaking - 9

Can anyone know, how many answers should correct outof 38 questions to aquire CLB7 or more in Listening and Reading components? This information will helpful while preaparing the test sample before taking exams. Thanks, chiru.

Chiru, listening, reading and speaking sections contain set of unscored questions and u will never know which one it is unscored... So it's better to give equal importance to all questions.

I took the celpip general on april 26 and got my result today. Exactly 8 business days from the day I took the exam. Below is my score:

Listening 11
Reading 8
Writing 8
Speaking 8

Is that enough for me to qualify for PR? TIA
