I have been admitted to Concordia University for Summer term but i recently found out that they offer very few courses in Summer therefore I am deferring my term to Fall. I wanted to know Will I need to obtain a new CAQ regardless of the expiration date of my previous one? and since I have already been issued Visa will there be any other problems if i defer now?

I am an MEng student by the way. Yes u are right. I contacted my concerned department advisor for updated list of Courses that will be offered this May. She told me that there will be very few courses offered plus they will be offered in a condensed format(7 weeks) which is often difficult for new students. I've seen the list of courses that were offered last summer and I am not interested in any of those.

I am still bit confused myself ??? Not sure if I should defer or not plus my ECE department advisor has told me to defer as soon as possible :-\ The updated list of courses that will be offered in May will come at the end of March. Don't know if i should wait for them or not.

Mine is MEng in Software Engg. Whom should I contact for the information about the courses ? I will also check. But I think there is no need to take more or even 2 courses if you feel that the time is less. One can have only 1 course for that term and still be a full time student. Thats my assumption though.

I will have to take 2 courses (8 credits) in my first semester. Have u contacted your concerned program coordinator what do they say?

Only if this one course is in the LAST but not the FIRST semester. For any other semesters for "full time" there are should be classes at least 15 hours per week. Some universities consider study is full time when there are 20-25 hrs /week.

I didn't. My consultant was saying that the course selection would be done once I am in Montreal. I could not believe.
I think I better start mailing the course coordinator since I paid first term fee today. Your's is which program ? Electrical Computer Engg ?

I checked my LOA and Halina is my department coordinator. Sent an email to her today about the courses. Lets see what i get. Can I get the same info on myconcordia ?

New students will have to register for courses once they have arrived in the University or Montreal. I am in Electrical Computer Engg yes.

Well my program coordinator told me that the list of course won't be offered till end of March so I don't think there is anything on the myconcordia portal as well yet.

No you won't face any problem in deferring after visa. My visa is validated till Dec 2016 so till then I don't have to worry of renewal. I can't say for sure some say we will get 3years but on CIC site it says a little different
