What happens when you have 5 weeks in a month? I take it the extra week falls into that second pay period?ju_mark said:yes, that's exactly why I got confused:
bi-weekly: paid every two weeks = 26 payterms year
semi-monthly: paid twice a month (payterm1: day 1-15 /payterm 2: day 16 to 31) = 24 payterms per year
What confuses me: according to you for both options 60 hours are required?
Regardless... You are looking at this the wong way. Lets assume you have 5 weeks in a month, but 2 pay periods = 2 weeks (PP1) + 3 weeks (PP2). So, you will need 60 hrs + 90 hrs. If its normal 2 + 2, then you need 60 + 60. CIC looks at the weekly balance and doesnt really care how your HR pays these out. As long you have 30 hrs per week, and work for 52 weeks, you are good.
