Hello and thanks for taking time to read or reply....

Came to Canada in 2006 as a refugee . every refugee comes here he gets a deportation order in the airport that come with his refugee document.. this deportation order that goes in effect in case his hearing goes negative and he is refused to stay here ... I got one like this .

I got accepted here and became a PR. I am sending my application in August. There is a question in citizenship application section 8 part D that says ..

Are you now or have you ever been under a removal order ( have you been asked by a Canadian to leave Canada )?

I dont know what to answer here.. there was an order like this for me in case my case was not accepted .. but i was accepted and became a PR.

I called cic and the employees there said you should be yes and just explain it ...

I asked a friend of mine who applied in 2005 and got her citizenship in 2006 ( she also came same way) she said she didnt mark that question as yes ( though she got the same deportation order).. I asked her why? she said because that was not in effect at all, this is like a procedure in case I lost my case but i didnt.

I am a bit confused about this question... Can anyone help me?

Just answer it truthfully and then explain it. Why would they hold this against you? You were accepted as a PR. Get a lawyer's advice if you still aren't sure.
