Hi,

Could somebody let me know the exact procedure for getting mark sheets attested from mumbai university ?

I live in the UK and would not be able to go to Mumbai in person.

I have graduated in 1999 from an engineering college affiliated to Mumbai university and when i contacted the registrar via telephone, he advised that we would need to submit a bonafide certificate from my college as it has been more than 10 years since i have graduated.

further more, he says original mark sheets along with photo copies would be required and i could then authorize a person to represent me at the university office. he also said that some additional form needs to be filled.

could anyone help me out around the exact procedure and timelines involved and if anyone in this forum who has successfully completed this process under similar circumstances?

appreciate your help and prompt response as time is of the essence here.

I was in similar circumstances, but not from Mumbai university, RGUHS, Bangalore.
My brother went and got the marks sheets and degree certificates attested from registrar by paying applicable fees and was asked to show the identity to prove the relationship and it was easy for him as his identity documents contained the same surname/lastname and etc.
Probably, rather transcripts get attested from registrar by sending authority letter to one of your relative in Mumbai.

Seniors, please need your guidance in this matter.

Just wanted to know if you your brother had to submit original marksheets or did you send notarized copies of the originals. Further how much time did the entire process take?

My brother submitted only photocopies, it took three days of time after the submission of application with fee payment.
Neither notarized copy nor the originals were shown to them.
In India you know if request is made in person explaining the situation it works.

I got the envelopes today in India. I had to get Masters from Mumbai so, it will be couriered to Bangalore and from there on Sat it will be sent to WES.

Just wanted to confirm if you obtained the assessment in the sealed envelope from Mumbai university...? was there any form u need to fill in? and how long did it take for the mumbai university part to get completed? furthermore did u go to the Mumbai university urself or was there a representative that u sent...please help...Thanks

Do the universities have a fee to get attested by the registrar. My husband will be travelling to India this weekend for attesting bcz they said the student should come in person. This process has so much time consuming. Its the second time we sending mark sheet to WES. ..

I do not know if they charge a fee...Maybe some else could kindly reply..and also please let me know the procedure and timelines involved wrt to Mumbai university????? Thanks

Sorry for late reply, was bit busy. @ Sydney ... In Mumbai one of my friend got it attested from registrar and it worked, but I swear even I dont know how it happened, I had mailed him consolidated marks card and degree certificate, he got it done.
Yes they have given in sealed envelope both in Bangalore and Mumbai. Both will be sent to WES by Sat as it is taking time to reach Bangalore.
@ Sydney..try to send a friend or relative who is better in his/her PR it works, when it has worked for me it should for you as well.

Hi,

I am a graduate from Mumbai University passed out in 2005. To get the mark sheets attested , I contacted University Of Mumbai, Church Gate , today and they said they would need originals to attest the photocopies and then they would enclose it in sealed envelope. This whole process will take 20 -25 days. Again, I am not sure whether they would sign the WES Request Form. Because, University of Mumbai, Kalina, had declined to sign such form when I went there for attestation. Not sure, if Church Gate branch would also do the same.

Could any body else get the attested marksheets and signed WES form from University of Mumbai?
- Which office did you contact? Kurla/CG
- How long did it took to get sealed envelope?
- Did they agree to sign the WES form and put that into sealed envelope along with marksheets?

Replies are greatly appreciated. 20-25 days time is too much and I fear the cap would exhaust by the time WES sends me the report. Please help me out with your suggestions.

@ Pk: thank u very much for responding....But it would be great if u could please check with ur freind and advise us the process...as we would like to have this sorted asap...also in the case of Mumbai u have not mentioned if u sent the original or photocopies to ur freind to produce before the registrar..and if u could let us know the time the process took for Mumbai exclusively....

Did they also have to sign the WES Document????? Please let me know ...ur urgent response would be greatly appreciated..Thanks..

@Sydney 1710: It took almost more than a week, approximately 8 to 10 days. He told he caught a person ( some attendant or clerk I am not sure @Kalina) that person got the work done but after some butter and patties. I had given photocopies.
There is no need to get the signature on WES document.
I believe there is no harm in trying and try to get the Jack from some where (U know about Mumbai very well JUGAAD works better)

PS: But don't tell that one person has got the attestation done earlier, as it will create problem for me. I have told in good faith. As u know Mumbai university is always in news.
