Hi,

I've completed my medical exam and is awaiting for CIC to process my application. Meanwhile, I was thinking of sending the Right of Permanent Resident Fee ($490) to CIC upfront instead of awaiting for CIC to request so that it will not delay the process. Is it advisable to do so? Does anyone know whether I can pay the fee upfront and which is the correct form to use for payment?

Would really appreciate if someone could advise. :)

Thanks!

Hello Kentish,,

I would suggest u to wait because u can pay this fee online and takes only a few seconds I guess...and attach the receipt of online fee paid with your passport when they request..It won't speed up the process anyways if u pay it right away..

this is the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp#rprf

Hi Buds,

Thanks for your reply.

However, I can't get any info on paying the fees online. Where do you get the info?

Many thanks!

Are you in Canada? What is the name of the visa office? You can find info from the following link.

Hi scorpion_ca,

Yes, I'm in Canada. I've sent my application to CIO in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Is that my visa office or will I be directed to another visa office? ::)

Since I'm in Canada, I'm not able to pay online. Do you think I can pay upfront to CIO in Sydney, Nova Scotia? Which is the correct form for payment?

Pls advise.

Many thanks!

As you are in Canada, you are eligible to pay RPRF online. If I were in your situation, I wouldn't pay it until it is requested by VO. Please see the link to pay RPRF.

https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/immigrationlist.do

I think CIO in Sydney would forward your file to another office in Canada or USA. I could be wrong. I would suggest you to contact CIC call centre agent at 1-888-242-2100 and find out more about it before paying RPRF.

What do you mean by link doesn't have any payment info? When you click the link you should see following info. After that, click on Right of Permanent Resident Fee and you would be able to pay from there.

Online Payment

FAQ
NOTE: If you are applying at an office outside Canada, you cannot pay online. You can find information on fee payment methods at the website of the visa office responsible for the country or region where you live.

Thanks! I've tried to clear the previous history on my computer and it now works.

BTW, approximately how long would CIC take to inform me the Visa Office processing my file? Or how would I know which Visa Office is processing my file?

All I know is the medical exam result will be sent to CIC in Ottawa. Does it mean that my file will be process in Ottawa?

Sorry to be asking this on this thread but I've tried asking on a few other forums with no replies. I am hoping someone can help here since you've already sent the PR application. I've obtained my CSQ and will apply for PR in Canada itself.
My question is do I have to submit all work certificates and academic certificates again with the PR application as I did for the CSQ? I'm asking this in case I'm sending unnecessary documents to them and also I would have to get these certified again by a notary. So wouldn't want to waste money if these are not required.
Also if you apply from within Canada, what do you put for visa office on the form?

Do you have document checklist for your PR application? If it is required to submit all work certificates and academic certificates, I think you will have to submit again.

If you are in Canada, you can contact Centre de contacts clientèle (Information service) and get clarifications from them.

Thanks scorpion_ca. The documents checklist is this one:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5690E.pdf

It does not specifically list work and academic cerfiticates on the list but in Form IMM 5669 where you fill in the personal history for the past 10 years you enter details of work experience etc. So I am thinking whether this section needs to be supported with additional work / academic certificates.

Also the checklist says NOT to submit anything not mentioned on it. But how would they verify that this section is correct? This is where I'm confused.

I think work and academic certificates fall under supporting documents as per document checklist page #1 Forms and supporting documents (to be completed and submitted by all applicants).

If you have the copy of the previously submitted notarized copy, you should attach those copies with your application.

If I were in your situation, I would provide them notarized copies.
