Hi all,

This is regarding citizenship. Yester day i was going through the postings related to citizenship of Canada.

one the status says your apllication started processing on such and such date.. (exp March 25).. from there it will take 6 months to send it to the local Immigration office (calgary or edmonton ). Once it reached to office 2 more months you need to wait to receive a call for Test.

This is waht i observed in most of the cases.

I might be worng.

Thanks ,

Sam

If you are from Edmonton, forget this timeline. Edmonton does not have a citizenship judge so everything is very slow here.

After your file's status changes to "in process", it takes about 6 month to transfer the file, then ~8 months to schedule the test and ~6 months to have the oath ...

I think Calgary is a little bit faster then Edmonton ...

Good luck!

I applied in calgary. My friend applied me and she received a letter for her test.

I am not sure what is the method of processing ?/ :)

We could probably describe it with one word: chaos (thanks to budget cuts, office closures, changing rules .... )

If you want to see a few timelines from Calgary, check out this link:

I think the time required for the processing of applications to citizenship and immigration canada also depends on where you are applying from.

here you can find why they are different: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1421&top=3

and here you can check times: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html
