I have been in Canada for 2+ years. I have been applying for visitor record extensions. I got 4 months, 6 months, 1 year and my last extension was approved for 5 months. I got the last approval letter April 14 and April 15 I got a letter requesting I do a medical exam. I am not a student or a worker. However, I still did the medical exam. I was wondering if it was the 1 year extension or the fact that I was in Canada overall for 2+ years that requires me to do the medical exam even though i am from a medically exempt country? Would anyone know why I had to do the medical exam? I am just hoping I did everything correctly concerning the medical exam and other required tests Right now I am so nervous and keep overthinking. What if this wasn't done correctly? I am so worried. Do not want to have made any mistakes in the process.

It is fairly normal for visitors trying to extend the stay in Canada to get a request to do a medical as a condition of the extension. This is to ensure you will not put pressure on the healthcare system while visiting Canada. After 2+ years visiting Canada and after numerous extensions you should either be planning on returning home or applying for non-visitor status in Canada.

Ok thank you.
