Updating SIN number after PR

Hi everyone,
I have a question about updating my SIN Number after receiving permanent residency. Should I necessarily update my SIN right after getting COPR, or is it okay to wait about 1.5 months until I receive my PR card to make the update?

I’m filing my tax and prefer to go with the old SIN to keep things simple.
