Hello everyone,

So my father submitted his PR application back in 2021 under the family class (he has refugee sstatus here n Canada). in that application, he selected the option to reunite with my mother and younger sister, who currently live outside of Canada and have never been here.

Last year, my mom and sister were asked to provide biometrics through the canadian ambassy abroad and they did, but we haven't heard anything since.

Just last week, my father received a letter stating that he would soon receive his Confirmation of PR. He was asked to verify a few details via email, which we did.
Today, he got another email requesting a photo and confirmation that he’s currently in Canada, through a secure portal. We completed that step as well, and it now says he’ll receive his PR card by mail soon.

My question is:

Has anyone else experienced something similar?
And does this mean my mother and sister will receive further instructions soon?
it's just strange that they don't mention anything about the other applicant and the dependant and I'm abit confused.

We live in Québec if that matters?

Thanks

You need to post in refugee/asylum section. This isn’t actually family sponsorship issue. It is normal for primary applicant in Canada to receive PR first then processing of family members outside Canada begins. You will find other similar examples under the right thread. Quebec is always a factor in processing timelines.
