Dear all,
- I am currently in Canada. I came back to Canada by PRTD R-1 ( applied on H&C ground due to my wife’s miscarriages 2 times and my son’s illness., but I have no idea why counterfoil is R-1).

-According to most of advices in this forum, i need to wait 2 years until back in comply with RO in order to sponsor my wife and my son.

- Therefore I am considering to apply visitor visa for them to come to Canada with me. There are few things I am not sure about and need advices from everyone.

1. Will Visitor visa application leads to my RO examined again cuz my wife has to mention my name as husband in her app?
2. Chance of them getting approved when husband is Canada PR.
3. If they are rejected for visitor visa, will it affect me to sponsor them later on when I meet RO?

Thanks all

No, it won’t affect future sponsorship eligibility. Visitor visa refusals do not impact your ability to sponsor family members later, as long as you meet the eligibility requirements at the time of sponsorship, which includes:
  • Being a PR living in Canada, and
  • Meeting the 730-day RO in the 5-year period

Chances of approval are quite low but applying for the TRVs won’t hurt.

Thank you for you input, what if i am gonna start sponsorship with 3-4 months short from meeting RO. I am working right now in order to prove my financial support for sponsorship. I am ordering gcms notes but have no reply yet since its been 30 days. If i were granted PRTD R-1 base on H&C. Does it make big difference and allow me to sponsor right away? Thank you all and appreciate for any advice.

thank you very much, Is there any other way to bring my wife and my son to Canada earlier, because 2+ years is quite long for me to separate from my son since his health is not quite well.
thank you

Your sone and spouse can apply for TRVs. They need to show strong ties to return, funds, and travel history. Given that you are in Canada and PR then chances are very low. But all they can do is try. Keep visit short and show that spouse has job letter with approved leave, business and/or investment properties.

If his health is not good the other big issue is the likely lack of healthcare coverage as visitors even a private policy would not cover most preexisting conditions.

If waiting why risk being short 3-4 months.
