Question about Security screening validity. If recently completed for one PR program can the same result applied to another PR application under a different program?
to give more info. PGP application security is pass after more than 3 years. recent application under PR pathway was submitted, can same result for security and background checks be used on the new application?

Background check status changed from not applicable to we are processing your background check. I was asked to provide PCC and Schedule A for myself and also my spouse background check is completed. Further, I have been in security screening for 4 years, so now in this context what would this change in status would mean ?

I got nomination with AAIP under rural Renewal stream path way. But had issue with employer business name not being active on CAC website during the PNP but I was able to proof to the officer handling my file that though the company is not active on CAC portal but it is active physically. I sent in taxes paid, signage and contracts gotten from state government.My employer have started the process of reactivation and has made necessary payment but the portal did not allow to pay for the last year and we are asked to go to court for court order so the process can be completed. Now the court hearing date is next year June. This means the employer business name would be inactive while my application is ongoing. Please note the PNP also saw this infact then it was struck off but I was later granted nomination after my loe and submitted documents. Now I have applied for PR and waiting for AOR. I am scared cos of employment verification, I might not have the luck I had during PNP

Please what can I do, and way forward. I have put on for PR application with same employer.

Hello everyone,

I have been stuck in Security Screening, Comprehensive screening since the 14th May 2024, ITA 11th February 2024, AOR the 3rd March 2024. I ordered the GCMS notes twice, first time in august 2024 and the second time received few days ago. I have noticed two major changes in the second notes, the first one is that although the application status is still “ON HOLD” for both notes, but the app status reason has changed from “Suspended – Clearances” to “BLANK”. The second change is that the application changed from “Received by CBSA” to “Favorable”. Has someone experienced this kind of notes? And could we say that it is a good sign for the end of this security screening nightmare? Thanks to you all for all the valuable information that we are getting here.

I received the ATIP notes yesterday and came across the phrase 'Grant Clearance Pending. Do you know what this means and whether it's something positive?

How long IRCC takes in decision after security completed from CBSA? My security was in progress since April 2024, then in progressed by CBSA since June 2024. Today, I heard from IRCC agent that security has done from CBSA. If anyone can share his experience.

Hi, My file was sent to c-check on Oct 11 2024, recently got "fresh" GCMS notes and there it still says received by CBSA, but there was message "Security decision referred to the cleared officer" does it mean that my file is still within CBSA and they did not process it yet? How did you ask IRCC agent to provide you a with an update that your file was completed by CBSA. Thanks in advance.

To my experience, and when I researched it saying that the file first goes to CBSA in the status showing “Received by CBSA” in GCMS notes then CBSA send it to CSIS, when CSIS done /still in progress went to CBSA again then the status change to “In progress by CBSA”. Your GCMS notes showing referred to cleared office then it’s a good sign bc i heard from many applicants. In while calling IRCC it depends on agnet , some agent r expert ,they can share only such information. Otherwise u will get response from them due to privacy we can’t share such information.

thanks for the response. with all my heart i am hoping that it is a good sign, but what causes my confusion is that it still says " received by CBSA" i do not know if it will be sent to CSIS. the fact that drives me crazy is that IRCC has approved all my work permits for 5 years in the row for the same things that they used as a reason to sent us to C-Check (place of birth & exemption from military with condition that official confirmation of exemption was submitted with the application.

In some cases they are not referring file to CSIS too. Only CBSA is handling it. These days, they are putting everyone to comprehensive screening.

thanks. so from one side it might be a positive since it might indicate the end of CBSA`s job, and it is up to IRCC to give a green light. But here is another concerns - how long IRCC may take time to complete? My notes were generated on February 7th 2025, i received them March 7th, a week later got response from IRCC to my webform - your application is in progress, wait. are there any known ways to expedite it somehow? probably no, as IRCC will never confirm that CBSA has finished their part.

i was sent to ccheck on 30th oct 2024. any update from you?

last time i got my notes it says recived by cbsa. no changes since october atall for me

Hi, i yesterday received my notes from CBSA, i ordered and there it says security decision was referred to the cleared officer and File referred: PNP meds not started. I do not know what it means, honestly. From my point i may interpret it as positive sign, but i do not know if IRCC means the same thing as i am.
