Hello - a friend has mailed application in July 2024, returned August 2024
mailed back Dec 26 2024
Called IRCC today and was told they have the application but working on October applications. Wondering if he should apply online as it will be quicker. Travelling within 2 months and worried it may not come on time. Any suggestions or recommendations?

If he does not receive the new PR Card in time, he could return to Canada via a land PoE in a private vehicle (or on foot), assuming he can enter the U.S.

The valid PR Card is required by commercial carriers (U.S. passport holders are usually exempt), so all others need to enter Canada as mentioned above. His expired PR card will allow him to enter Canada.

It appears that an online application will only be faster if it meets the criteria for automated processing. I do not know for sure, but I highly suspect that if the current application is in the IRCC system and still subject to further processing, that will preclude automated processing of any subsequent online application. Whether to try is a tough personal call. A lot may depend on the particular PR's situation, including how clear it is the PR meets the Residency Obligation and how clear it is the PR has settled PERMANENTLY in Canada, among other factors.

The obvious, but in many situations an unsatisfactory alternative, is to rely on obtaining a PR Travel Document to make the return trip to Canada. PRs with status to travel to the U.S. can fly to the U.S. city nearest to their destination in Canada and then use ground transportation to return to Canada at a land-border Port-of-Entry.

Friends PR was returned. Will now apply online. He has not done his taxes since 2022. Please help, can he submit NOA's for the years he did, with the addition of his paystubs and bank statements. If so how many from for each year? 12 bank statements per year for the last 5 years? Same as Paystubs? Anyone experience this? Please Help!! Thank you.

Your friend is not going to be able to avoid reading the instructions. Start with the checklist.

Does anyone know how to link the application to GC Key account. Every time I am trying it says already linked because of the earlier PR Card application from 5 years before was linked with same UCI and Name. Is there anyway of knowing the application number? I called the their customer service line and they always have too many customers on the phone so I could not go through.

To be honest lately there have been a lot of reports that people are having no success getting a profile connected, and when they do, it is hopelessly out of date and ... often they get their cards before the system shows anything.

If you've submitted recently and met the RO and no other known issues - IMO not worth even trying to do all that.

The most likely reason could be that your PR renewal application is not yet being processed. Either you can keep trying and when it is up for processing, probably you should be able to link (this is all guess though).Other way is to call and ask for application number.

Posting on behalf of my parents.
My wife and my PR cards are up for renewal. We both are senior citizens and retired. We have our NOAs and Bank statements for the last 5 years and no T-4s
1- Can I log into myCIC account and file applications for both of us from this account?
2- Should we upload NOA from each year of last 5 years?
3- Should we upload bank statement of each month in the last 5 years.
4- Any other tips/guidance will be appreciated.

First, you can use one account for several people in your family. I applies renewals for my son and myself;
Second, based on my understanding ,you do not need to upload all the documents. What they want to see is some proof that you have normal life activities in Canada and bank statements proves a lot.
for several other proofs, you can put them together and upload in one PDF format which is clear and logical.
Good luck!!

Think they are clarifying that they are posting on behalf of another person because volunteers often looks back at previous posts. The clarification is much appreciated and a model others should also follow.

My wife and my PR cards are up for renewal.
1- Can we file two applications from one IRCC account?
2- If yes, how? Do we need to complete one application first and then start the second?
TIA
