I'm on background check SS A34 from Nov 28, 2023. My MP did found out that they are checking my military, even if I didn't serve in regular army I did chose civilian sector. I did mention all of that and give them documents but look like that they want to check that. My AOR was April 4, 2023. So soon will be 2 years how I'm waiting for this. I'm conceding taking a lawyer for mandamus or taking them to court but that is extra $$$.

My dad's security screening started from Dec 15, 2023, close to your case. Still waiting.

Today received email from MP. The follow-up days are changed from 120 days to 2 weeks. Does this mean my parents' case will be finalized soon?

How long IRCC takes in decision after security completed from CBSA? My security was in progress since April 2024, then in progress by CBSA since June 2024. Today, I heard from IRCC agent that security has done from CBSA. If anyone can share his experience.

I got a ghost update on March 07 on the tracker, then phoned IRCC. The agent told me that the CBSA did security. After that, I haven't seen any updates.

Hello guys,
I applied for PR and have been put in comprehensive security check since May last year.
I also have a valid OWP, and I applied for the visitor visa in case I need to go abroad and come back. But they asked for CV for my visitor visa application in December, which I suspect is another round of security check on my visitor visa. I have applied visitor visa before but never had this. Anyone knows what is going on here? Thank you guys in advance.

I believe the only way to know if your security is completed is when you see it completed on your tracker history, not call to ircc agent or tracker update (this can be as a result of anything, even as useless as just tracker regular maintenance)

I am understanding that there should be some updates on the tracker. But i don’t know why the agent told me that it has done by CBSA. I asked him the same question twice to confirm it. He said it’s completed by CBSA.

Can anybody enlighten me under what circumstances they decide the applicant need a c-check? I had no military background, no govt job, didnt have any extensive travel history nor I had any previous visa refusals. I didnt have any sensitive job in my past professional career either. I am not from any country which deemed as a threat to Canadian govt. Still they put me in c-check.

same here from nigeria and just worked as a lawyer in a law firm, was put in security check since october 2024 and no update since then. no real travels , no military experience. they just decided to do it. imagine seeing friends you applied together already have their cards. and they just say there is othing to do about it. MP cant do anything , no body cant do anything, they just tell you to wait, till when, you dont know. they dont care about ones mental or emotional state. its a shame
