I will be applying for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visitor visa as a researcher to work without a permit under the global skill strategy 120-day visa. Could anyone suggest how much time recently it will take to process the visa if I apply from India?

Look at processing times from your country for a TRV.

I have already looked at the general processing time for visitor visas in India, but that doesn't show us the processing time for the TRV visa that falls under the Global Skill Strategy Scheme, which features a faster processing time (definitely not three months.) It's supposed to be within 2 weeks, but due to the large volume of applications, it varies with the country. That's why I was asking for the timeline to process TRV under Global Skill Strategy (GSS) - Work without Permit as a Researcher applying from India.

So your employer needs approval under this stream to be eligible. So your employer got approval or not? You, as the employee, cannot just say that you are eligible.

Yes, I'm aware of the two weeks. Based on experiences on this forum, extremely few applications are processed within the two weeks. Most wait several months. You may get very lucky and experience faster processing. However you should be prepared for the significant possiblity it will take much longer. Good luck.

Yes, I got the approval; I am eligible for it, and I also got the invitation letter from the institute (My employer has the approval.) I just wanted to know the processing time.

Since you have approval from the designated approval partner, it may take two weeks or 20 weeks. No one can tell you because the 2 week processing times have not been met since pre Covid.

Assume it will be several months vs a few weeks. Always some chance you will be one of the lucky few who hears back much faster. But be prepared that it will most likely be a few months.

Maybe. No one can tell you unless you get approval in 2 weeks. MITACs is a common internship in Canada so depends on who your DSC referral partner is.
