Thanks! We all have a journey or immigration journeys. Good luck to all the applicants here, and in due time you will all receive your citizenship.

Had my own share of struggles in my earlier applications like-- 1st immigration appl getting cancelled after 10yrs (2002 pool), struggling with student visa, on the verge of leaving Canada due to financial difficulties, and then 3rd time lucky with immigration.

The forums here have helped me always, eternally grateful!
Nice and congrats! Yes - never give up hope in your journey - it's all worth it in the end.

Its usually a week after AOR. See below, but yes if it could take any where from 1 - 3 months or more for non routine senerios or FP request. From the tracker I see that most Jan applicants got in 1-2 weeks of AOR. Most have completed their test.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/citizenship-test.html

Wait for your test invitation
We usually send the invitation within 1 week of your acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) letter or email.
Thanks. Hoping being a daily us commuter doesn’t make it non routine. Will continue to wait.

I don't think daily US travel makes any difference as long as its net 0 days per trip and PP shown is over 1095 days. Meaning, this fact standalone is quite routine.

If anything, the longest time it could take is to generate the AOR as it's a lot of trips for them to enter. Data entry delays, but thats prior to AOR not after.

I noticed that the Jan 25 thread is so dead. Is there seriously no movement after giving citizenship tests for anyone, or people just not updating?

Also I see people reference DM status. Where is this on the tracker? I only see test, BG and LPP (6 statuses), I do not see anything separately for DM, where is this usually located?

I believe it’s November and December AORs getting their LPPs and Oath now. Hopefully we start seeing some movement next month.

Still grateful we got the tests out of the way, I saw someone from October still waiting for the test..

Don't forget most Nov only gave tests in Feb - most Jans have also given tests in Feb. Since Jan I think they send test in 1 week - sounds like some process change.

Oct and before are part of the old lot - I am guessing they will probably take a lot longer.

One of the reasons we finally applied for citizenship after being here since 2012, and PR since 2015, is the upcoming election.

What's the chances that our processing will be done in time to vote?

Hi Guys ,
I have some question .
I am invited to take citizenship test so can i take this test any time meaning any time even after midnight as i have long shifts in the morning.
How many attempts do i have to pass the test.
Do i need to have pr card and license with me when i take the test.
Will the result be updated automatically or do i have to upload the result .
Will the result be declared as soon as i hit the submit button.

How many attempts do i have to pass the test: Total 3 attempts
Do i need to have pr card and license with me when i take the test: Yes, a valid driving license or a PR card
Will the result be updated automatically or do i have to upload the result : It shows the results immediately after submission, but it's a temporary result that needs to be approved by an officer
Will the result be declared as soon as i hit the submit button: It shows the results immediately after submission, but it's a temporary result that needs to be approved by an officer

This is a general question for the admins as much as the members.

I was looking through the 2024 excel tracker , and noted that 79% in July had received their oaths, but this number is only 69% for June?

Similarly, there are many entries in September and October where LPP and every other step is complete for a few weeks but no oath.

With that in mind, should we look at the tracker with some qualification that some people may not update once they have received their citizenship and the tracker shows their application as incomplete?

Thats what happens I think - many people get what they want and dont return or bother to close the tracker

I agree, it appears applications are moving a lot quicker than it seems. But what I don't understand is, why does the timeline on the "check processing times" website keep increasing? It has gone up to 9 months now!

based on mid 2024 data (taking a lot longer for them), they are making approximations I feel

Jan is the fastest IMO
