Extension before sending application?

Hello!

I've been in the process of my spousal sponsorship application but we are missing a few documents. I requested an extension last year and currently am allowed to stay from April 24 2024 - April 24 2025. Our documents that we need are arriving past the date that I should send in an extension (march 25). Should I request a 2nd extension and explain in the letter that I am currently working on our spousal application but unfortunately some of the documents will be arriving too late? Should I add documents such as our marriage certificate and a proof of address to prove that we're in the process of it? Anything else I should add maybe? I'm just worried they'll think I'm not actually filling out a spousal sponsorship but I have been since June.

Please let me know, thank you!

Yes. Use your judgment as to what to include. I'd say don't overdo it. To me the strongest would be stating what doc you need, empahsize it's required, and expected date.

That sounds good to me! It's government identification for proof of address for my husband, so I think they'll understand. Thank you very much!

Actually I'd question whether that is critical to applying at this stage at all - but it does depend on what other proof you have and type of app, etc.

Or put differently: the perfect can be the enemy of the good. If you've been working on it since June, may it just be time to submit?

You've really dragged your heels on the PR application which isn't great optically. Is it possible to pay the PR application fees now to show some sort of evidence that you are in fact serious about submitting the application? That sort of proof would be good.
