But the 21 months time frame does that mean everything else will take 21 months to be completed ??
@Ramankaur26 - The total processing time will be 21 months, which means (as per my current experience with IRCC) all the steps in the entire process will start getting delayed. For example- I paid the BIL fee on 27th Dec 2024 but I haven't received the BIL till now. Earlier it used to be within 24-48 hrs.

Now that you have received your GCMS notes, you should check the following key sections to understand where your application is stuck and what progress has been made:
1. Application Summary (First Few Pages)
Status of Each Stage: Check the status of eligibility, security, criminality, and medical.
Assigned Visa Office: See which office is handling your file. If it was transferred, check the last location.

Group Name & Assignments: Look for any internal comments about priority or processing stages.
2. Eligibility Assessment

Eligibility Status: Look for Passed, or Recommended Passed, or Review Required.

Notes from the Case Analyst: If it says Review Required, see why (e.g., proof of funds, work experience, or other concerns).

Employment Verification: If your work experience is critical, check if they have concerns about your reference letters, job duties, or employer verification

3. Criminality & Security Checks

Criminality: Usually based on your police certificates. If it says Passed, no issues. If In Progress, check for pending requests.

Security: This is often redacted, but if it's still Not Started or In Progress for a long time, it could be causing delays.

4. Medical Assessment
Status: Should say Passed if your medical was accepted. If it says In Progress or Review Required, check for specific issues.
IME Number: Ensure it matches your recent medical exam (if applicable).

5. Info Sharing Section
This relates to security screening between countries (e.g., CBSA, RCMP, CSIS). If its pending, it might be causing delays.

6. Officer's Notes (Most Important Section)
This is at the bottom of the file and gives the officers comments.
Look for:
Concerns about eligibility (e.g., work experience, common-law proof, finances).

Requests for additional documents.
Whether they need more review or are waiting for an internal decision.

if i have a pending permanent residency application (NON EE, OINP), is it still advisable to open an express entry application? my existing EE profile expired, and was thinking if i can make a new one at this point or if that would cause an issue with my pending permanent residency application. has anyone been in the same situation? any advise would be appreciated. thanks!!

Yes if you have non express entry application, you can create new profile and apply for express entry under CEC or other categories. If you get invited you can apply for express entry as well . Note you have to pay fees agains and provide all documentation again for express entry application.

@Miss bee and everyone, if I am going to update IMM5406, do I print and sign it then scan as PDF? Are all answers in handprint or just my signature? I have not received AOR yet but need to update and change one of the addresses. I did online portal before so I don’t know how to use the PDF format for webform. Thanks
