Hi there,
I was hoping to get some advice on the following:
My ex and myself applied for the Canadian Citizenship as a group with him being the main applicant and me signing on as a co. We did this Feb 2024. Now it is over a year and still in process.
Unfortunately, we ended our relationship and I am leaving Canada for good. Does anyone have experience on splitting the application where I can cancel mine and my ex can continue.
I researched that once the application has been processed that we need to send the CIT 0027 form (Request for Withdrawal of Canadian Citizenship) through the web portal, however, it seems risky as it looks like it is a request form for the whole group application - it asks for application number and my ex and I have the same number so I have a feeling the IRCC would remove my ex in the end.
I would hate that he would have to start again.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
