FULL TIME STUDENT

Hi,

My status here is International Student. For the previous semester I enrolled 5-6 subjects and they consider me as a full time student. Now, I need to take 2 subject that I failed to pass. I asked the Success Advisor in my school and they gave me a study plan. And there's a semester in that study plan that I only have 2 subject which the one that I fail. I just wanna ask if my status will get affected if I am not full time anymore?

For PGWP, you can only be eligible your last semester. If not last semester then take more courses.

You can re-take courses but must be full time except last semester

so I asked my success advisor to send a study plan so she did. but in the study plan I have a semester that is blank and it says UNSCHEDULED BREAK. What does it mean? will it affect my status? or if I plan to work, can I work full time? what shoould I do?

You can’t take unscheduled breaks and still qualify for PGWP.

Why did you take an unscheduled break…what was the reason? How long? Did you work during that time? You will need to explain why when applying for PGWP.

I didn’t choose to have it. The success advisor give it to me it is included in the study plan

How long was the break? Work during break? Have advisor write a letter to explaining why you took an unauthorized break.

The break is on Summer 2025. I don’t know if I can work on that certain time that’s why I seek for help here. And no, she did not give me explanation

Talk to your advisor on why your transcript has unauthorized break. Ask her to write letter of explanation.
