Visitor Visa Jan 2025 Application status

Hello,

I applied for a visitor visa on January 21st. After four days i.e on 24th, I called the IRCC IVR system, which indicated that my background check was in progress and eligibility had not yet started. However, when I checked again yesterday and today 2/6 by entering my application ID and DOB, the message said, "Please press 1 to extend your visa." What does this mean?

Too early decision , I just received an email with a refusal, and I'm struggling to understand what's going on with IRCC these days. I included strong evidence of my ties to my home country, a stable job working from years at one place (employment letter, pay stubs, bank statements , PF etc., along with strong financial evidence , supporting assets and, most importantly, my 90-day-old baby. Highlighting here my elder brother, sister in law and my nephew all are citizens. I’m leaving everything behind just to attend my nephew's birthday event , which is already scheduled, and I’ve shared all the relevant documents, including the venue details, as part of my application. Do you think reconsideration or a judicial review could help?

So what were reasons for refusal? Length of visit? Cash in the bank?

Honestly why would you come to Canada for your nephew’s birthday when you just had a baby? A birthday is one day. To IRCC that would make no sense.

Why would you go with JR when you don’t even have GCMS notes. JR will takes months and a lot of money if you get a lawyer. Do you know how JR works…seems you must if asking about it without addressing reasons and reapplying. Same for reconsideration. What is the error in law without GCMS notes.

They found your eligibility is not met

It’s been a while since we haven’t met. Along with the event we’ve planned to explore Canada for a week. I’ve applied GCMS now

So where are you going to ”explore” Canada? Did you include itinerary for that too? Is the cash in the bank just your personal funds? The issue is IRCC wants to see funds that can not only support your stay but also support your new child. Does partner have funds to include?

So reapply with a reasonable itinerary with general costs? Include bank statements from partner to show they can support child. Letter of invitation should not just be about a birthday (no reason to come for just a birthday) but what you will do for your time there, and that you will bear the costs. Host saying they will cover all costs raises flags. Include your job letter with approved leave. Having a stable job in the past doesn’t mean anything.

I think I should’ve include the itinerary now. Yes, my partner has close to $17k CAD funds. I’ve already submitted employment reference letter along with approved leaves.

So reapply but you should get GCMS notes first but your decision. You never said what reasons for refusal were.

What is your country of citizenship and do you live there? How did your brother obtain PR in Canada? Leaving your young baby to attend your nephew’s birthday for a week does not make much sense.
