hi i have question this is normal i get my tracker update 10 jan its almost 1 month no update on tracker
You can call IRCC and ask if your Security is done. If that’s done, that’ll mean the decision is just around the corner.

I am almost in similar timeline as you and got FP request yesterday as well. Test invite came from NGF office, but FP request from Vancouver office. I think a bunch of our applications were transferred to Vancouver office for processing.

Yeah my test invite came from Calgary but then FPR came from Vancouver. IRCC already stated via phone my primary VO is Vancouver now (got moved), Secondary is Sydney, NS, and my event office (oath/test) is Calgary. Applied from Calgary.

Security checks are explained in this IRCC webpage-
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/committees/secu-august-28-2024/immigration-security-screening-trilateral-program.html

Security timelines are case specific and vary based on individual’s background. Comprehensive Security screening is done by CSIS, hence IRCC awaits information from them before a decision on security is made. Generally takes few weeks to many months, hence, case specific.

Just to note that page is about 'immigration', whereas the details can differ somewhat for citizenship:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/committees/secu-august-28-2024/immigration-processing-journey.html

Notably, all applicants for citizenship are screened by CSIS. This doc doesn't give much detail, it probably is comparable to the staged process above (more or less comprehensive depending what they find).

There's some more here:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/committees/secu-august-28-2024/citizenship.html

I'd just note for those reading, the context I think was parliamentary hearings about a terrorist act and immigration-related screening. Hence the 'security' focus. Not likely to be much here about how long it takes or delays.
