Outstanding balance RFPR after application was transferred to another office

Hello all,

Today I received that I have a pending balance of $60 for the Right of permanent residence, after more than 1 year and that my file has been transferred to Mississauga for further assessment after they were not able to come with a decision initially.

Is this email a good or bad sign? In Canada common-law application, sponsor is PR.

"The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is required before you can become a permanent resident in Canada. The Confirmation of Permanent Residence document will not be issued to you until this payment is made. If you have not already made the RPRF payment, you are required to do so in order to avoid processing delays. Failure to pay the RPRF may result in the refusal of your application for permanent residence. If you agree that you did NOT pay the full amount, pay it ASAP!

You would hate to be denied your PR status over $60, right?!

No it’s not lol, asking you to pay the pay isn’t a good sign it’s mandatory that fee is paid in full for the application to be even looked at.

well, it's not the case if they asked for RPRF, this fee is not required at the beginning, it's only required when they're about to make the final decision

Again you’re wrong lol, I was asked to pay that fee two years ago August 12, 2023 and my filing is still in process. This fee can be paid at the beginning however it’s not mandatory but once they start working on your file they’ll request u to pay it. It doesn’t mean approval or anything of the sort I’m telling you from experience, stop spreading misinformation.
