Can you please clear it alittle , your medical exam was expired before that’s why IRCC passed it twice ? Because mine passed in 2023 and is valid upto April 2025. My ss started in April 2024.

My comprehensive check started 26 October 2023. I am from Nigeria. Everything was going smoothly with my application until they asked for police clearance from Congo, a country where I worked in the oil and gas sector for 11 years. After I submitted the police clearance everything went quiet for months until I discovered I was put on comprehensive security check.
really? they extended it? are you currently residing in Nigeria? I am surprised congo could be a trigger. or did you visit any other countries? i dont expect an experience in oil and gas to trigger it. except perhaps if you got PhD. except if your's fall within the random selection category. in any case, you are crossing the finish line already
You can find in the SECURITY section. The created date of the sub activity, in which the status is Received by CBSA / In Progress by CBSA, is recognized as the start date.

What does it mean?
At 15th August 2023, IRCC decided that your case somehow deserved to go through a comprehensive security screening conducted by CBSA. And I guess your sub activity status at this moment is In Progress by CBSA, so the latter date of 1st September 2024 indicates the day when the status changed from Received by CBSA to In Progress by CBSA, by which, it PROBABLY means that CBSA actually started to put their hands on your case.
Yes u r right, as per gcms, it says in progress by cbsa - so means from aug 2023 till aug 2024 - cbsa did nothing? wasted whole year ?
what should i expect from them now?
I don't really know how CBSA would process our cases, but to me the CBSA status can't say too much. It seems the whole process is going to take 1.5 to 2 years on average, so let's hope your case is getting really close to an end.
