Hello there ,

I will be landing in Montreal mid April, my brother lives in Quebec city and I want to stay at him place for two weeks maximum till I find Rent in Ottawa (my city of destination in my COPR)
Is it safe to give his address to the immigration agent and let them know that I will stay with my brother till I find rent? Would it cause me issues since he lives in Quebec and my COPR has Ontario in it? Should I lie to the agent and tell them I am going to Ottawa right away and that I will be getting an hotel room?

Please help

You never lie

And it’s annoying to constantly read on here where people say they are going to lie , ask if it’s ok to lie , or insinuate they’ll lie .

How you are going to find a place to rent in a place that’s over 400 km from where you’re staying ?

Thank you for your answer.
I never intended to lie to anyone, I was searching online and some people said that it might cause issues to stay at someone's place in Quebec when you're a fresh PR. I don't want to have any issues legally so I wanted to know if it was okay to stay at my brother's house in Quebec city till I get my SIN, find rent etc..

Yes it could be an issue. Also not a great plan either. You will likely need to be in the Ottawa region to actually rent a place.
