How to prove working as a fashion designer for a tailor shop

Hi everyone.

My wife worked for almost two years for her mother, who owns a tailor shop. Unfortunately, her mother's shop isn't officially registered as a company or business, so we can't offer an official letter from her with a letterhead and such. Her shop is a very famous shop in the area and has a very strong online presence with 200K followers on Instagram and an active telegram channel,where she also holds online tailoring classes.

My wife has a fashion design certificate from a prestigious institute in my country and she was paid (although sometimes irregularly) for her designs by her mother. She worked full time in the shop. We have proof of her designs and portfolios ending up as clothing collections.

Can these two years be counted as foreign work experience? If yes, how can we prove it and what documentations should we provide?

How about using income tax report?

The tax situation is really complicated in my country. We have a broken taxation system and not every income is taxed in the same way. I don't think we will be able to offer sufficient tax reports.

She worked full time as a fashion designer, video editor for social media content and assistant (answering calls, emails etc). She got paid every month but not on the same day and not the same amount of money.

She would have to pick the NOC that matches her primary role everyday in the business. What is the goal?

So showing bank deposits (and maybe a notarized letter from her mother) would be enough to prove that she worked there? Yes we're currently deciding what NOC code to use since we want to use that job experience on our express entry (FSW) profile.

Wouldn’t say it’s guaranteed but that’s your only option. If you are the primary applicant what is your NOC and CRS score with and without your spouse?

We're still deciding who should be the main applicant. My NOC is 13110 (3 years of experience), master's degree, beginner French but maxed out IELTS. My wife on the other hand, is fluent in French and English but has no other work experience other than this one. We were hoping we could get into the French category with my wife as the primary applicant.

May be quite tough but you can certainly try.
