I took a leave of 3+ months which is not mentioned in my reference letter - it only states the start and end date. They (my former employers) refused to redo the reference letter because this is their standard reference letter for PR applications. However they confirmed the leave period on an email. Is this sufficient? I split my express entry profile work experience around the leave (I excluded the leave period when creating my profile).

Should be fine. You could also attach a letter of explanation. You’re being upfront about a period of leave which doesn’t typically benefit applicants.

I have excluded the period from my express entry profile. However in all my previous applications (study permit, PGWP) I mentioned start date to end date (no leave information, just like reference letter). Would this inconsistency cause a problem?
