What exactly is ghost update can you someone please tell me ?

Ghost update -- you wont receive any email or see any changes but last updated date changes on your status tracker page.
In my wife's case, when i logged in to her tracking account, last updated date was 28th Jan that is yesterday itself. But no other visible changes or email.
from my point of view there is nothing we can do apart from waiting for 21 working days and then raising a webform, if we don't get any update.
They will take their own sweet time

When you log in to the tracker, on top right corner shows two dates. One is last login date and other one is last updated date (this date is when work was done on your application last)

Possibly that could be the reason never know what criteria IRCC pick processes it.
when did you got ghost update on your sons application? Usually the ghost update indicates stamping is done so that could give you an idea about progress on your passport stamping.

Is this same with you? My lawyer is not replying if they received any counterfoil update in my application. I have not received any dispatch message either.

As I am reading previous replies, I counted days accordingly, those of us have submitted applications on Jan 8-9 should receive dispatch message no later than 31st Jan. Let’s hope for the best!!

I am able to see the counter foil update on my tracker account from the next day of receiving PPR. My wife's tracker account is also showing last updated as 28 Jan. When did your passport reach IRCC?

My parents sent their passports on Jan 10th and got a msg on Jan 12th that its under process at IRCC office.

can we request emergency passport withdrawal (without fee refund, visa stamping), due to personal emergency that requires them to travel outside india with passport? they tried submitting a form online and the agent replied saying "However, we regret to inform you that since a decision has already been made in your file, it is not possible to initiate a withdrawal or a refund. In order for us to withdraw an application, it is important that we receive a written request before a final decision is taken in your file."

I don't know what this final decision means.

I haven't received anything on my application, no ghost update even. Not sure what's the status. Mine is normal visitor visa, based on trends I was also hoping something by Thursday. But since there is no ghost update even, I am not sure.
