Can I Claim 50 Points in Express Entry if My LMIA Has Expired (2025)?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently in Canada on a closed work permit based on an LMIA, but the LMIA recently expired. Based on my understanding, I don’t need to update my Express Entry profile, and I should still be able to claim 50 points for the job offer.

I’ve reviewed the official guidelines here: Express Entry – Job offer. It states that a new LMIA isn’t required if:
  1. I’ve already been working full-time (or an equal amount of part-time) for the employer on a work permit based on an LMIA, and
  2. I have a valid job offer.
Has anyone successfully claimed 50 points in this situation where the LMIA expired?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Hi Everyone!
In spring 25 IRCC WILL remove 50 points for LMIA, is there gonna be any profession or teer category which is gonna be exempt from this change and will still be able to claim’s points?
Any kinds words from your knowledge would be very much appreciated.

No exemptions have been announced. Right now all points are gone.
