Hello everyone,

Primary applicant lost her passport for 3 weeks due to mishandling by Fedex(visa stamping from Ottawa) and already file for a police report and under process for PR. Now, IRCC want to take biometrics, one of the requirement is the BIL(30 days) and passport. Can the primary applicant bring the police report, provincial ID instead? Getting a new passport will take 2 to 3 months. Any thoughts on this? Does the PR application will get affected by this? Advise is really andr highly appreciated. Thank you

Thanks Misbee for the confirmation. However, while filling the IMM 5744 consent form, in the designated representative's information shall I input my details itself or leave it blank. Because I am applying under privacy act and from outside Canada.

I believe your best bet might be to send IRCC a webform and explain to them what happened and probably ask for a BIL extension if you can’t meet the 30day deadline. Just my thoughts.

Unfortunately you need a valid passport to do biometric. Best option is to send webform and explain your situation and ask for extension of biometric. Attach copy of police file and all supporting documentation. In meantime apply new passport asap .

How long it's usually taking after biometrics fees payment submitted (Inland Non EE PNP) via IRCC webfrom for them IRCC to actually send out a BIL? I haven't received it yet and on asking for any update visa IRCC client support they mentioned that the reponsible office has not yet received the payment receipt, infact I paid it the very next day and submitted quickly via webform.

Hi @Miss bee, I have a quick question. But first context: I have lived in Canada for 7 years since I was 17 years old and have never traveled outside of Canada since arrival. Do I still need to supply a Police Clearance Certificate from my home country even though since 18 years old onwards I only ever lived in Canada. Or would a Letter of Explanation stating this fact be sufficient where the PCC needs to be uploaded for the application in portal.

@Miss bee As per your suggestion, I have filled out an online form for passport renewal also booked the appointment with BLS next week.

I have received my AOR and already completed my biometric (In biometric, they needed my passport).

I still yet to receive medical request in my PR application. I have already submitted my old medical in my application. You think I will need my passport in case if they dont accept my past medical? Considering, I will submit my current passport to BLS next week.

Also, if I get a new passport, will IRCC ask for new PCC as my new passport will have a new number. Thanks!!

No , your PCC is not connected with your passport. You need valid passport when your PR application is processing. Apply new passport and once you get it , send it through webform .
