So. Mini back story.
Before my husband came to Canada I was in Ontario works. Been on it since I was 17 and gave birth.
I have come off as of December 2024.

I plan to file for my husband which is why I came off.
My child has special needs, I receive another form of benefits called ACSD which comes through the same portal as Ontario works (I know receiving this because it’s for disability is ok). Will it still flag my application as being an OW recipient ?

(I provided an explanation letter)
I also want to add. Even though receiving OW, I have always had 2/3 jobs at the same time.
Will I be okay?

I have provided job contracts and an explanation but the information on OW or if anyone escaped the scrutiny is small

You should be OK. Make sure you stay off OW while the application is being processed.

I assume your husband is working? Show evidence of that.

He’s not allowed to work as a temporary resident. So I definitely cover everything right now

If he can find remote work (via the internet, or phone) and does NOT work for a person or company in Canada, he can do so without the need of a work permit.

It would be better if he was working. Where there is a history of OW and ongoing disability payments, IRCC can have concerns whether you are actually in a position to support your partner financially and this can in some cases create issues for the application.

Is your partner from the US by any chance? Something to consider is having him continue living primarily in the US so that he can continue working and applying outland.

If not from the US, where is he from and how old is he? If he's in Canada, it would be better for him to be holding a work permit and be employed before you apply.

How long were you on OW? If you have a long period of being on OW and going off OW coincides with sponsorship that can raise concerns. If you had been able to financially supporting your family for many months before applying before sponsorship that would be better.

He does actually, I didn’t think to include this. I’ll add it, should it go with the part with shared expenses or am I adding this to the part about my finances ?

Since you've been on OW for quite a long time, recommend you wait until you have stopped taking it for 3-4 months before submitting the sponsorship application.

It would be better if your partner / spouse was working but sounds like he isn't so you'll just have to go with that and hope for the best. Good luck.

Yes, I understand that. I was saying consider applying outland. But your choice of course. Based in your first post, it sounded like you hadn't submitted the application yet so suggested this as something to consider.
