Co-op Ended, but I Got Paid This Month – Advice Needed

I finished my co-op last month (December 2024), but I just noticed I got paid for this month (January 2025as well. I’m planning to inform HR and my manager about it, but I’m a bit worried that I might miss something important or unintentionally violate any rules.

Has anyone experienced this before? What’s the best way to handle this situation? Any advice would be appreciated!

Not an issue as long as you get the official letter indicating when your co-op started and ended!

Thank you for the reply. As taxes are still being paid from my salary, I am worried as this may be considered as I am still employed and working more than 20hrs per week during my study term. Are there any important documentations I need to obtain from the employer or Do I need to notify IRCC about this issue?

It shouldn't be a problem as long as the dates are mentioned clearly. These payments must be retroactive payments being made in order to close your account for good. Moving forward, you shouldn't get any.
