When applying for PR under the Non-Express Entry stream, even if your spouse is listed as a non-accompanying dependent, their documents, such as a photo, police clearance certificate (PCC), and medical exam results, are still required. Missing these documents could delay your application or lead to it being returned as incomplete.

Here’s how you can address the situation:
1. Prepare the Missing Documents
• Photo: Ensure it meets IRCC’s specifications.
• PCC: Your spouse can obtain it from the relevant authorities in India.
• Medical Exam: Your spouse can complete an upfront medical exam with a panel physician in India. The clinic will provide an IME number that you can submit.

2. Submit the Documents via Webform
• Combine all the missing documents into a single PDF (max size: 4 MB). Include a detailed explanation of why these documents were not included in the initial submission.
• Reference your application details (full name, date of birth, UCI, and application number if available).
• Use the IRCC Webform to submit the documents. Select the appropriate category (e.g., “Permanent Residence Application”).

3. What Happens After Submission?
• IRCC will attach the documents to your application. Processing times for webform submissions can vary but typically take 2-4 weeks for acknowledgment or action.
• Monitor your email and account for updates. IRCC may confirm receipt or request additional clarification.

4. Risk of Return Without AOR
• If the application is deemed incomplete before issuing an AOR, IRCC may return it. Submitting the missing documents as soon as possible reduces this risk.

5.
• Be proactive: If you don’t receive a response after 30 days, consider following up via another webform submission.
• Keep copies of all documents and correspondence for your records.
Okay @Miss bee . So for the upfront medical exam, Does have to be the passport or other form of photo id would work? Like Election card. Her passport is in the renewal process

For an upfront medical exam for Canadian immigration, a valid passport is the preferred and most widely accepted form of identification. However, if the passport is unavailable due to renewal, some panel physicians may accept other government-issued photo identification, such as:
• National ID card

• Election card

• Driver’s license

You should contact the panel physician directly to confirm what alternative forms of ID they accept. Explain the situation regarding the passport renewal and inquire whether the Election card would suffice. Make sure the alternative ID has a photograph, date of birth, and matches the name on the immigration application.
Also if you have copy of old passport that might work too . Best call is to call panel office and ask them .

If you got invitation for EE- PNP PR application category, you have 60 days to submit documents online in your GCKEY . If you didn’t submit documents, you will go back into pool and you have to create new profile and transfer 600 points into new account which is a bug hassle.
Thank you so much, @Miss bee

So, if I understood correctly

Nomination in EE PNP program, you have 60 days to apply
Nomination in Non Express Entry PNP, you have 6 months to apply

Is that correct?

Thank you, again

Nomination is valid for 6 months but if you already got invitation for Federal PR application, you have 60 days to submit complete application to IRCC .

@Miss bee You really are such a big help to me. But just one last question I want to ask you is that They check our medical exam sheet through the barcode that they provide one e-medical form right? they don't care about the ID that we used for the medical exam to be done? I mean do they only want us to put our passport there to do the up-front medical?

I'm currently in the process of applying for NON-EE PNP on the online portal. I just wanted to confirm whether what I did for the photo is correct:
1. The photo studio stamped the date and their address on the back of the physical photo; we wrote our name and date of birth below the stamp.
2. We scanned both sides of the photo and cropped it to remove the extra area.
3. Merged both sides into a single PDF for each applicant for uploading.

Yes, for immigration purposes, the key document that matters during the medical exam is typically your passport. This is because the passport serves as the primary identifier and is linked to the barcode on the eMedical form, which immigration authorities use to track and verify your medical results.

Here is how it work

1. Barcode on the eMedical form: The clinic or doctor will scan this barcode to access and update your medical record in the eMedical system.
2. Passport as identification: You are usually required to present your passport at the time of the medical exam to confirm your identity. The medical results are then linked to your passport number in the system.

The ID you may have used during the medical exam process (if different from your passport) isn’t relevant to immigration authorities, as they rely solely on the eMedical system and the passport information you provide for tracking purposes.

If you are re unsure, it’s s best to confirm with the clinic where you completed your medical exam. However, in most cases, the passport and eMedical barcode are sufficient.

Your situation involves multiple factors that need careful planning to avoid a gap in status and to ensure you can continue working in Canada while waiting for your PR.

1. Why Your PGWP Is Shorter
• Your PGWP expiry date is based on your passport’s expiry date, not your biometrics. Double-check if your passport expires on October 22, 2025. If that’s the case, you can extend your PGWP to reflect the full 3 years once you renew your passport.

Steps to Extend PGWP Based on Passport:
• Renew your passport as soon as possible.
• Once you receive your new passport, apply to extend your PGWP by providing:
• A letter of explanation.
• Copy of the renewed passport.
• Copy of the original PGWP and explanation of why it was shorter.
If your passport is valid beyond October 2025, the shortened PGWP may be due to an error. In that case, raise a webform with IRCC to clarify.

2. Should You Wait for a BOWP or Extend PGWP Now?
Option 1: Apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP)
• A BOWP allows you to work while waiting for PR.
• To apply, you need an AOR (Acknowledgment of Receipt) from your PR application. Since you submitted your PR application on November 5, 2024, you should receive your AOR soon (most PR applicants receive it within 3-4 months)

Option 2: Extend PGWP Now
• If you don’t receive your AOR in time and your PGWP is close to expiring, you can extend your work permit under the employer-specific LMIA-exempt category (if applicable) or wait until your PR application progresses further.
• For this extension, you’d need:
• A valid job offer.
• An LMIA-exempt work permit support letter (if tied to your employer).
• Proof that you meet the job requirements

3. Recommendation: Prioritize PGWP Extension
Given your current timeline, your best course of action is:
1. Renew your passport now to address the short validity of your PGWP.
2. Wait for your AOR and apply for a BOWP when it becomes available.
3. If your AOR is delayed and you risk losing status, extend your PGWP based on your renewed passport.
Hello, thank you for your advice. I submited my new passport which expire on October 13, 2033 together with my PGWP application. I am so sorry, today I checked on my IRCC for my old PWGP application and there was a Correspondence Letter that said "However, if you wish to extend the validity of your permit or visa beyond the validity date indicated above you can provide your biometric information again and pay the associated fee for another ten-year validity." So then, should I go and book an appointment to provide biometrics again with that Application No. and UCI? After that, how can I start the application to extend my PGWP with my new biometrics because when I check on IRCC, it leads me to the number 2 option 2 you mentioned above.

Thank you very much.

Hi @Miss bee ,

I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out for advice regarding submitting a document via the IRCC webform.

I’m currently waiting for my AOR for my BC-PNP non-Express Entry Permanent Residence application. When I initially submitted my application, I uploaded a translated copy of my birth certificate. Now, I’d like to submit the original birth certificate through the webform.

However, I’m unsure which option to select for the “Type of application/enquiry” in the webform. If I choose “Permanent Residence (applied online),” I don’t see an option for non-Express Entry Provincial Nominee Program applications. Should I choose something else?

Additionally, the translated copy I uploaded earlier has a QR code at the top of the page. Would that help in any way to validate the document in case my webform does not get opened before the review of my application? The translation only includes a stamp at the bottom mentioning it’s a translated copy.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Hiiii,
Anyone here applied for GCMS notes. Please reply. I have a query. Do we(Principal applicant) need to submit the consent form to get the details about our spouse & kid. Also is it good to submit the GCMS notes on privacy act (Outside Canada) to know about the status of my application. Its already 6+ months. As of now only Biometrics completed & no updates. Waiting for medical request. Bio completed on 13.01.2025. TIA.
