I need guidance, a female with two children applied for citizenship application in August 2023, all items in the online tracker are completed except the background and prohibition, for the child, the background is green. Our PRs are extended till June 2029.

We have been in Canada throughout the period from June 2022 till date. Total years lived in Canada 5


Can I travel with kids overseas in August 2025 for 11 months while application is still ongoing.

Are there any risks

Yes you can travel anywhere. For 11 months, you should notify IRCC for new address. Also when you get Oath ceremony, you need to come back as you or your kids can’t take oath from outside Canada unless approved by IRCC under certain circumstances.

Well, if your application isn't finalized by next August, aka after 2 years, there's a very good chance it does before reaching the 3rd year, so there's the obvious risk of needing to come back for the oath on short notice.
Please note that kids under 14 don't need to attend their ceremony, but their PR card needs to be cut. So, if you want, you can leave them overseas with some family and come back alone (bring back their PR cards!), saving you money in the process.
