Hi guys, after my research, I realized the date enter into common law should be the date after 1 year we start cohabitating.

I put the first day we living together on the application form imm 1344. Can I do web form to correct this issue? Do I submit the whole form or just explanation letter with correct answer?

It seems lots of people choose the 1st day of living together. Will there be any problems if I do nothing about it?

And also for statuary declaration of common law, imm 5409, question 1 d) asks if I declare my common law union under tax act T1 tax return. I did declare my common law union with CRA. But I mistakenly choose NO for this question. Do this matter? Should I do webform too? Submit whole corrected form or just explanation letter with correct answer?
If I leave it unchanged, will something bad happen?

Thanks guys.

f you select “Married” or “Common-law,” you must enter information about your spouse. If you are married, you must enter the date of your marriage. If you are in a common-law relationship (common-law marriage), you must enter the date on which you entered into the common-law relationship. This date isn’t when you started living together but the date of the first anniversary of cohabitation. For example, if you moved in together on October 1, 2015, you’ve been in a common-law relationship since October 1, 2016.

It very well may be a problem, since you are not deemed to be common-law until AFTER the one year of cohabiting. Therefore, you `enter into' CL on that date.

I suggest you submit the webform(s) ASAP.

Do I upload the whole form or just explanation with correct answer? What about imm 5409? Question asking if I declared common law union under tax act T1 tax return?
