Hi All,

I paid the fee:
Summary of fees and chose to pay the right of permanent residence fee later. Here is how much I paid:
FeeQuantityPrice ($CAN)Total Amount (C$)
Sponsor your spouse or partner (without right of permanent residence fee)
Sponsorship fee ($85) and principal applicant processing fee ($545)
1$630.00$630.00
Biometrics – per person1$85.00$85.00
Total amount for all applications:$715.00

And I attached the receipt to the application but got rejected today said I need to pay the Biometrics fee but I did pay in full $715 in CAD. What did I miss? Could you tell me how much you paid? No dependents.

Thank you very much for all your time.

Best,
Jason

I think what we've seen here often enough is that IRCC sometimes sends reminders to pay eg RPRF or biometrics if you have not paid yet that are not entirely clear (that is, you don't need to pay if you have already).

BUT: this happens more with the RPRF than with the biometrics. Sometimes they do ask to pay the biometric even if it's already been paid.

If not clear, I'd suggest paying it - it's not that much, and as far as I'm aware, IRCC will return the funds/offset against others (never seen anyone complain here that IRCC has not returned a fee mistakenly overpaid).

Thanks for the suggestion. but what I did was, I requested a refund on my previous payment and resubmitted a full payment including the RPRF with the official receipt. Then I attached a screenshot of the fees I paid as the receipt didn't indicate how much is the application fee and how much is the biometrics. I also sent them a webform request on the application to make sure they listed the correct amount of fees, and filed a serval complains to ask them to educate their staff better. This really sucks.

They rejected your application because you did not pay a biometric fee? Is that what the rejection letter said? There had to be an email for you to at least pay the biometrics fee .

Yes I did, and I filled it as well. As for the documents they need, I also wrote the file name aside the bullet points.

I really don't think my payment has any issue. If they said I missed any other documents, I'll buy that but not the "BIO" fee since I follow all the instruction carefully. I don't trust them now as they can make such mistake from the very beginning. What if later they made a mistake on your background check and really denied your application? Can you imagine that?

I am so sorry for this but I think the comment above is right. It is only being returned, not rejected/refused yet. If you are able to find the reasons why it was being returned, you can still resubmit! But what are the reasonsss??? :(
