Got EE invitation through the OINP program but submitted to the incorrect stream

Hello everyone,

I was invited to the OINP Human Capital – FSWP program while my profile was in the EE pool, and my OINP application was approved on 10/24/2024. After I accepted the nomination in my EE account, I received an invitation to EE on 11/12/2024.

After gathering all the required documents, I submitted my PR application through https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login. However, I did not realize that I had submitted to the wrong stream until I received a new message in my EE profile that my EE invitation had expired and I did not submit the application.

I'd like to know what I can do at this point and if I can correct the course.

Seems like you are out of luck and re-enter the pool. You had 90 days to submit and your file is closed. You can contact IRCC and ask for reconsideration but it is your error, and IRCC rules are very clear. Also ask an immigration lawyer for advice.

Yes it is definitely my own error. I checked my OINP certification and it says that it won't expire until 4/22/2025. However, since I already accepted this invitation through my current EE profile, I'm not sure if Ontario Immigration can transfer the current one onto a new EE profile if I re-enter the pool.

But didn’t you have xx number of days to submit to IRCC and didn’t? Create a new profile with OINP certificate and re-enter. See what happens. Then submit PR application ASAP.

Yea I didn't know that I submitted to the incorrect stream, I thought I already submitted my EE application, which is my own fault. Other people also suggested that I contact OINP to transfer the certificate to a new EE profile after I re-enter.

I think it's still a good idea to consult with a lawyer first. If I had someone who helped me throughout the process, I might have not made such a dumb mistake to begin with.
